re monitors, i'd go further. i think the payoff really comes from spending less on side and more on quantity: get 2 smaller monitors and you effectively get significantly more visible desktop space. you need either a 2nd graphics car or a double headed card for this, but any operating system nowadays works out of the box with dual monitors.

You won't be sorry. The best deal I could find for the equivilent machine was over $900 more. Here are some excellent links.

You can do the research or you can dupe mine and use a dual monitor video card. Mine is stable as a box of rocks.

Found both on Pricewatch and based the purch decision on combination of price and customer satisfaction rating.

Remember, if you go DDR, you have to use two 512 MB ram sticks to get the dual channel. Don't just buy a 1 GB stick. Also, if you go with the AMD CPU, use the AMD recomended Samsung Non ECC ram.

Finally, everyone I have talked to has had the same experience with blowing the power supply. Anything less than 450w will get fried so buy the biggest power supply you can get.
