Who else is there?"

85% of the computers in the world are non-Dell. Looking at DELL only is like keeping the blinders on.

Intel just released 865 chipset based solutions in June. With a sluggish PC market, there is inventory glut of 845 chipset computers in channel that forces DELL to dump low end 845 solutions in expensively but mark up excessively on high end 865 solutions.

I would look either waiting till next year to get 865 chipset DELL system when they enter the mainstream at lower price point or go look for someone selling 865 chipset solution with motherboard from Intel with 3 year warrantee now that would be at about 30% less then Dell's current sales price.
I am configuring tonight for my own use a Intel desktop board D865PERLK that cost $150 and has hyperthreading support, 1 Gigibyte LAN, firewire on board, RAID 0,1, SATA-150 ports and 800 mHz front side bus combine withd $230 2.6 GHz P4 and $80 80 GB SATA hard drive.

I forgot to mention DELL's site. I configured my own Dimension 8200 on the site. Once you find a model to your liking, you can add or subtract various options.

I put my order in on a Sunday evening, went with 2nd day delivery, ($20.00 extra, I think) and it was delivered 6 days later.

BTW - Dell was the first stock I ever bought back in May of '97 when I first entered the market. I added to it 4-5 times, and watched it split 5 times (6?) before selling around Oct. 2000. It's the only stock I know of that split 3 times in one calendar year.

Made a fortune with it, so figure I'll prolly be a loyal DELL customer for life in gratitude, lol.
