I tend to agree. With the exception of Emaar, the rest of these websites could have been designed by my 10 year old nephew. It does not cost all that much to get a professional looking website. This makes me a little nervous.

To understand mid-east style concerning their websites, take a look at television from the mid-east. I have an FTA satellite system and Telstar 5 has MANY mid-east broadcasts. When I first saw them, I thought, how amateurish. However, this is who they are--this is how they present themselves. I feel fortunate to be able to appreciate an entirely different view of the world through the eyes of a different culture.

Not everything in the world is based on US standards. For the cultural influences that direct their taste and style, I find them a big cut above what is the norm for that region.
