That's the beauty of the temporary ban - if the ban shouldn't have taken place, there's little harm done - everybody except Churak can live without posting on 1 board for 24 hours. ;)
You could make one head dude in charge of looking over "ban abuse reports" and then Matt watches over that dude. Nice little system of checks and balances, little for Matt to do so that he can concentrate on the more technical aspects of the site such as posting pictures of himself drunk on his latest vacation-of-the-month, giving one word answers to jailbirds, exchanging subpenny stock investments with olico, etc.
