Yes, the mice who didn't get HerpeCide had brain damage and died. The herpes virus attacked the nervous system. Herpes encephalitis can be a real problem in humans. HerpeCide protected mouse brains.

FluCide didn't seem to cause any problems in brains or any other major organ:
