who could possibly know what position trump takes at any given moment?

it isn't about trump.
as a society we are divided and misinformed with what basically amounts to propaganda.
that is to keep the people from having a meaningful say in policy.
money talks, etc. etc.
this is the time of year we need to take stock of our blessings, and we should also take note of those who share very little in american "prosperity" and aspirations because of the racism in this country, and other countries. no other way to put it, white supremacy in all of its forms, subtle and overt, for some people create terrible conditions to try to succeed here.
i am aware that i am writing this on a chat board mostly devoted to investments in the stock market where some lucky ones get to sweep up some crumbs that fall off the main table.
