So why does Obamma and lew continue with the stone wall defense, why not settle now.
There was no preparation for change. It appears now there is neither time nor the political and legal conditions to make changes to a highly defensive legal strategy that is tied up with the convoluted efforts to hold the GSEs in the conservatorships so they can be drained dry by the US Treasury while an inept US Congress clumsily plotted destructive GSE reform plans. If the GSEs are released the cash cows becomes bulls in an open field. They cannot be drained of their life's blood and they cannot be slaughtered in a Congressional abattoir. An unexpected new President has been chosen (not Hillary as expected) and the inauguration is fast coming.
The incoming administration has telegraphed their intentions. Apparently their are some questionable decisions made regarding the PSPA that could be mud raked by the incoming administration in Sweeneys court??
These will be revealed or not depending on how the court cases move forward during the Trump Administration and direction given to the DOJ.
