As I understand it the compression code started out life as the Iterated licensed VDK 2 codec which has been greatly enhanced and modified over the years and new patents applied for and received for the key enhancements.
The Dimension upscaling codec however has nothing to do with the Iterated codecs or license and has its own patents.
My understanding is that they also have other in-house developed technologies, but I guess we'll all have to wait until they are formally announced.
