In reply to Richard Clark's testomony:

1. Terrorism without US Retaliation in the 1980s: In the 1980s, Hizballah killed 278 United States Marines in Lebanon and twice destroyed the US embassy. They kidnapped and killed other Americans, including the CIA Station chief. There was no direct US military retaliation. In 1989, 259 people were killed on Pan Am 103. There was no direct US military retaliation. The George H. W. Bush administration did not have a formal counter-terrorism policy articulated in an NSC Presidential decision document.

I agree there should have been something done. I didn't care much for G.H.Bush as I thought him to be a Whinny Wimp.

Ronald Reagan ordered the Hezbollah Terroist to be killed and the mission was set, but for some unknown reason his Sec. of Defense cancelled the mission at the last minute. He should have been fired or worse IMO, but due to him being good friends with Reagan the President let it pass an another mission was never attempted and Reagan then pulled our troops out of Lebanon. This action emboldened the Terrorist by their own admission and is why Bush is doing the right thing when he strikes at them at every chance and doesn't back down or change course.
