biopharm, Avid needed someone to put in the show-room window. Someone that would attract attention so that under that attention Avid's performance and technology can be emphasised.
We are dealing here with a specialist in purification, amongst others, which we know is one of the BIG issues in biosimilars net-production.
producing GRAMS is not the issue. Producing PURE grams is the issue. So Peter will not only bring additional knowledge to the table, but he is also a published Author with a good reputation in the industry. BTW he gave the Avid tour at the annual.
And you can feel the change in dynamism. Things that have been disclose during the tour would before not have been. E.g. we are looking for Avid IV location, the gram vs milli-gram explanation, the purified water issue, etc. This is a new openness that, of-course, is easier to hold with Avid then with PPHM's R&D leg which is more 'vulnerable' to information abuse.
So IMO we are going to see a lot of him because every time "he" speaks "Peter Gagnon" speaks in the minds of the industry participants that know him. So Avid's message is passed along.
