AMJ, agreed the chances of Sao Tome making a fuss over ERHC and any bribery of Sao Tome officials is virtually non-existant with the firing of the AG by Menezes.

Menezes, of course, received the largest cash contribtion for his political campaign from Offor/Chrome of any Sao Tome official as noted in the Sao Tome AG report.

However, after being elected he conistently opposed the terms of the 1997 agreements with ERHC and had them renegotiated twice. It hardly amounted to a buying of positive inluence.

I feel that the whole saga will be remembered from the African perspective of Jan Hartman and Dougie Lackencamp, 2 ex US State Dept Officials, who attempted to exploit any differences in opinion on the ERHC/Sao Tome/JDZ contracts and awards and a rogue Sao Tome AG report compiled by Lackencamp that led to planned investigations of ERHC in the United States.

However, hard evidence will be difficult to come by for any FCPA violations.

ERHC/Offor could be looking at some moderate fines in the future, but nothing that would sidetrack ERHC's business and growth as an E and P company in West Africa.

Let's look ahead to our flowers bloomimg during the Spring of 2007, if not sooner.

Peace, happiness, and eventual prosperity for all who read here.

amj says:

"Offor is not sitting around waiting for anyone to tell him anything. Doesn't work that way. he's done it his way up until now and guess what, it has worked out rather well so far. "

AMJ, I wanted to make sure you knew that ERHE was under investigation by the SEC and DOJ. Are you aware of this?

I'm with you, amj. I've stated before that I thought there was very little chance of charges being brought under FCPA by the DOJ. Now I believe there is NO CHANCE AT ALL. It's a dead issue because any indictment could be so strongly defended in court. The sacking of the AG of STP was the nail in the coffin. If more investors understood this we would start to see a rise in the sp. As far as the SEC is concerned - any charges would be personal and would have no effect on the company, per se.

STP is looking to the future. There is NO CHANCE AT ALL that an attempt to strip our legal rights in the JDZ will be pursued.

It's back to business as usual, people. It's getting close to the time when fence sitters will have to jump on board or miss the initial run up in sp. At least back to the .80 level.
