Alas for the Trump voters, the disasters he will bring on this country will fall more heavily on them than anyone else. - and that's the sad reality of yesterday's election.
1. ENTITLEMENT: The coronation march of HRC was an idea conceived and executed in the minds, arrogance, and corporatism of the Democratic establishment and in a back room in 2008 when Obama made Hillary the Hawk SOS to strengthen her portfolio and agreed to support her if she ran in 2016. The people didn't want her.
2. ARROGANCE: In defiance of the DNC charter, which requires neutrality, the DNC rigged the primaries in favor of Hillary. The Democrat establishment rejected Bernie, the one honest candidate with no secret servers, no lies, no corporate sponsors, no millionaire privilege. In every poll Bernie beat Trump by double digits. These polls were ignored because the media and beltway were fixated on Hillary.
3. REPULSION: The mood of ordinary, non-Beltway Americans was misread by the neo-liberals who live in a DC bubble. Consistently polls revealed that over 50% of the voters were repulsed by both Trump and Hillary. Hillary didn't earn enough of our votes to come out on the winning side of that great divide even with all her neo-liberal arrogance and fear-mongering, glitz and celebrity parties, donors and super-pac money, and the superman trio of Reich, Sanders and Moore tragically debasing themselves as her fear-mongering team.
4. FEAR-MONGERING: An election strategy based on fear-mongering and dishonesty to extort the vote is bound to fail. Mobilizing an army of media cronies and super-pac hit teams to crush and destroy opposition is bound to fail. Orchestrating the elevation of an absolutely outrageous candidate like Trump to provide cover for your candidate's negatives is bound to fail. YES, for those who bought the propaganda, Clinton's presumed coronation was orchestrated right down to the elevation, and eventual evisceration, of Trump, so she would look like the savior of humanity in comparison. That was their strategy…we’ll win because Trump is so bad.
5. LESSER EVILISM: The two-party system holds voters hostage to the two candidates chosen by that two-party system. This time around the parties offered us two flawed candidates with admonitions to vote for the lesser of two evils. Well, who was the lesser evil? The answer to that question differed depending on which side of the great divide you were on. And the anti-establishment candidate won the day. Meaning that the establishment candidate lost, even with all her establishment cheerleaders in the press, WH, corporate boardrooms, fossil fuel and weapons industries, and even in the establishment wing of the Republican Party. Clearly, voters were not in a status quo mood.
6. TWO PARTY DUOPOLY: The presumption that votes belong only to the Democrats or Republicans is simply not true. Votes don't belong to the candidates—they belong to the voters. And voters aren't obligated to perpetuate the duopoly so they looked elsewhere to cast their votes. These voters rejected “lesser evilism” altogether and looked for candidates who better represented their values and moral compass. In the process these third party, independent, and new voters were bullied and belittled by the media and everyone else on HRC's coronation train for not falling in line behind her. No dissent was allowed and the big guns (POTUS, FLOTUS, Sanders, Reich, and Moore) came after us and considering the outcome, humiliated themselves in the process.
