That's how I read it. IMO, its two companies fulfilling two different tasks. I actually just got off the phone with my sister (she's an editor) to get her interpretation. From what I gathered, its more or less unwritten, but you would associate the first noun with the first action, and the second noun with the second action, but of course, there are other ways to see it.

That said, I'm not sure I believe Steve would've been thinking that deeply about the statement. Either way, big names don't get thrown around so easily without a connection.
