Yes, I know I read about that late last night and thought NVDA might have a momentum bounce despite the news. ...more likely, just a momentum drive in NVDA to upside.
LG, NVDA was just a trade I also had to scramble to get out of some options I still had. The gap fill was the result of some news from Reuters late last night, (see my link below) and reinforced this morning. I rarely hold long plays and if I do its usually the options that have already given gains (i.e. AKAM, AAPL) after their report. I have no long term portfolio or invested capital to protect. I'm pretty much a novice but I know enough not to buy and hold (buy high and hold through enormous downside) and try NEVER to miss trading opportunities on the short side. Long buys for the most part are DCB's so far. I like seasonal trading and NVDA is a momentum play driven by the earnings catalyst today. Got some good GOOG gains in August thanks to your and aj's in depth analysis and hope to do even better in GOOG for Sept.
