But rather than cut & paste from your words, let me try again in my words.
I'm convinced that if all children get the same education supplied to them for k-12, that this is not socialism but a manner than any group of people living in the same space understand that the "chain [society] is only as strong as the weakest link."
Society moves as a single unit, it can not remove damaged parts, for if done the damage parts will still make contact and instill their damage causing good parts to be less healthy.

I should have stated clearly that I do not want the federal government to do anything except collect the property taxes and distribute the money to the areas and perhaps side stepping the local government officials and transfer the money to an organization of parents with children and let them replace the public schools with private schools that includes a heavy slant towards your "technical vocation degrees."
Once again, my focus is k-12 not college.
I think my words has: "The money follows the child."
For sure I don't want to stir up a Union debate, my slant for k-12 is 100% parents control, no Unions. Teachers are hired, monitored, and if need, removed by the parents if so decided.
