a bit of better news with the new intermediate advisory ( http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT4+shtml/062354.shtml ) -- max sustained now down to 130 mph -- but central pressure still holding at 939 mb -- the drop in max sustained not inconsistent with an eyewall replacement cycle -- if that central pressure stays where it is, fair chance the next full advisory at 11p ET/10p CT will nudge the max sustained back to something above 130 mph

Florida: Matthew, the first major hurricane threatening a direct hit on the United States in more than 10 years, has lashed Florida
with heavy rain and winds after killing at least 339 people in Haiti on its destructive march north through the Caribbean.

Winds gusts of up to 100km/h [62 mph] and heavy downpours from Hurricane Matthew were reported in several
coastal communities in Florida as the eye of the Category 4 hurricane tracked along the east coast of the state.
