Yup, Big Guy… ‘Nother apparent fraud.

"The whole setup of the Hunting for Bambi site seems to be a deliberate attempt to shock and outrage," said Snopes.com, "and it's all too easy for hoaxsters to fool reporters with demonstrations staged for their benefit."

Let’s parse that down to:
“it's all too easy for hoaxsters to fool reporters” …

Change “hoaxsters” to… “almost anybody”..
AND… Welcome to the 21st. century!
(Not that it never happened in the previous century. <g>)

P.S.
I’m posting this on the “FUN” R&C board with the nagging feeling in the back of my noggin that although it is only ‘my personal opinion’, it needs to be backed up with at least 37 CURRENT VALID INTERNET LINKS to reputable sources so as to prevent the forthcoming inquisition!

ONEBGG

I first posted a link to the video from KLAS-TV in Las Vegas that showed the reporter on site during the staged hunt. KLAS took it off of their web site with-in a few days. You could see the women running around naked except for sneakers and no protective eyewear, which I thought odd and very unsafe.

It was obvious the reporter, a young black female, did not have the experience to do a proper interview and ask the correct questions. She knew very little about paintball, the speed that the paintballs travel at, protective clothing etc. In other words I don't think she ever saw a paintball gun before that day.

The fault in my opinion lies with her the reporter and her TV station for being so naive and suckered. It looks like (in hindsight of course) that the reporter had a pretty amazing story and she wanted to run with it, and did so without doing proper DD. Just like buying a OTC BB stock after reading a message board post. LOL Very foolish in deed.

I would like to see O'Reilly interview her and ask her journalism 101 questions and then point out how she lacked common sense. It might teach her a lesson, and then it might not. I wouldn't place too much blame on the media in general for that event. One must always consider the source of the information.
