Wade, why would they disclose inside information to anyone not an insider let alone someone that hasn't spent much time looking at the company or their earnings reports and is asking what forward margins will be when they don't disclose that?
Read thru the last quarterly report more than the couple minutes you migt have spent on it. You might be surprised many of your questions can at least be somewhat formed into general answers (like in part why margins improved in CACS).
If you ferret around as much as I have, there's actually a lot of info to help get a feel for where things are headed the next few years with CACS and to lesser degree the HVAC side IMO.
They don't have a cement business.
As far as margins, Michaelt gave what the margins were back in the late 90s and early 2000 period when their biz cycles were better for them (something like mid 20s I think).
Reality is last quarter margin for company was up less than 4 percent YOY compared to all of 2015 average of more than 4 %. So it is slowing a bit especially in light of q2 2015 having the problems at Pikeview that shut it down for a little while so the YOY comp of less than 4% wasn't all that great although obviously even the bit of improvement translates very well to bottom line. Not sure why everyone is so stunned at margins when it's the same general improvement they've been showing for more than a year on average.
Had fan coils had better margins (they were down a fair amount YOY) and their aggregates quarry troubles been behind them, margins should have been a fair amount better last quarter.
All IMO only. Yes, I know your MO of prodding people to get info and yes it worked again on me this time, so don't expect me to say much more other than I think this still represents a very good value/growth proposition. I think the margin improvement will start to mallow out soon unless stuff like gas prices, steel, copper etc head back down in price again. But look at the number they put up in front half this year so if margins flatten out they still have good earnings power. And, of course, margins could further improve if a couple things go their way.
Sadly for me (a somewhat conservative investor) your high risk investing and poking/prodding seems to work better than my heavy digging lol but in America I guess risk taking is almost always King.... So enjoy your crown. Glad it is working for you I guess.
Again, all IMO. Good luck to all.
