I don't think you announce that X company and Titan are considering a partnership, until it becomes very real and likely. If it falls through, then PPS drops because of the disappointment. Also signals to other companies publicly that X company was not interested, and weakens the position for Titan. I think Longtai is very serious and they will make that investment in the end. They clearly have action items that Titan must resolve before they make the investment. Who knows exactly what those are, but I would think the right partnership is key.
If Longtai has distribution rights in Asia, does that take away interest from a multi-national company to invest in Titan? For example, wouldn't JNJ have their own established Asia network of dealers and sales teams? I'm not sure how business is conducted in that part of the world, maybe it doesn't really make a difference. The US market in the end will be where Titan will make all of its profit.
