lightemotion, it's probably a bit of both, but i doubt someone buys 9M shares or more of a stock that is already well off its lows unless they have a very good idea the trend will continue. that's not beer money they are tossing around!
what it suggests to me is that a particular buyer was busy accumulating, and then when they saw the rally happening they decided to just leave stealth mode behind and buy all they could while it was still cheap.
as the saying goes, investors sell for a variety of reasons, they buy for only one. next week should be fun for the ATWT longs! i am really looking forward to the news.
