Well as bad as I hate it my company has switched all of or asphalt business to another company due to the supply lag. Alon needs to take advantage of this market even though its 10% of their revenue - they could make it 15% or 20%. In my district alone TxDot is planning on putting down and additional (this is over normal yearly budgets) 1.2mm tons of pavement over the next 3 years ( just in one district). They are going to pave all of the oilfield corridor highways with a minimum of 2" and some 3" of super pave asphalt. This does not include the multi-layers of oil and seal coat rock that go under it.Oil demand will keep building for these refineries for the next few years.Alon told me they would make the adjustments necessary to handle the increase in business this summer but they fell short - no excuse for it imo.
