Could timely Etanercept treatment prevent lethal edemas?

Etanercept (aka Enbrel, an antibody-like anti-Tumor necrosis factor) might help reduce inflammation and the potential for edema or other adverse cytokine side effects in immunotherapy.

It is used to treat arthritis (chronic inflammation), but it should help block acute inflammation.

I think it's been used to keep the rest of the body free of excess TNF when using TNF limb perfusion therapy to treat tumors in arms or legs.

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) is a potent cytokine that turns on the inflammatory response. Blocking TNF reduces inflammation and might help avoid lethal edema in these patients.
