cheynew, it is technically possible, even one share. If one places 110 shares in the Ask and 100 are sold then 10 remain in the price point.

The underlying protocol doesn't stop you. Mostly the broker interfaces do and force you to purchase a minimum depending on the price of the instrument.

You possibly also see it because it is a SLOW holiday market.

My TDAmeritrade shows 10 shares at the ask of .3997. I've never seen less than 100 shares before. Anyone explain?

Now 100K pops up next at .40 ask but 10 shares at .3997 is still there.

Just the Family jerking us around.
