you will note about 200k was split between the loans and the salary payback.
Unless lawyer bills were recently paid in the financials that we haven't seen, the cost associated with the settlement was likely paid out of the court funds before they even reached Evermedia. I remember talking to either Jon or Robert about this when there was that side dispute over the interpled funds, that funds had been taken to pay legal fees for Weitzel. Since Weitzel "had no money" which is of course laughable, I am sure they had to pay his legal fees from the interpled funds.
Remember, there was over 450k+ in the court account, "Evermedia agreed to drop the civil law suit against both defendants and relinquish a sum of $76,000 as well as issue mutual releases", which means all that missing money was probably paid directly to legal teams. So while they settled for more, they RECEIVED the net cash amount of 304, of which almost 200k went to Sym. Unfortunately, I had the court case page book marked but it looks like it has been taken down so I can't give you the exact figure, but I am fairly certain it was around 456k.
Sym is sneaky on the wording in the PR, he says "The settlement was a compromise in which Evermedia received a net cash award of nearly $304,000" he never breaks down explicitly how much money was in the interpled funds, and how the remaining ~80k was broken down. I assume it all went to legal bills, but who knows? Maybe he got another kickback for all his hard work. ;)
