MPaq, interesting new tidbits but the music player part of the scheme still has to compete with the ipod "infrastructure", by which I mean the huge ipod collection of accessories, car installations, speaker docks, mittens, socks, shoes blah blah,that people already own.
It will be interesting to see it all unfold in the next few months.
That stuff about how the Zune system would identify iTunes purchases and re-download them as ZuneTunes? That becomes much easier, and cost-free to Microsoft, for a subscription plan product, doesn't it?
I'm thinking the iPod and accompanying services are so entrenched MS is going to require something more revolutionary than just a device and subscription service Will it be based on the loss leader XBox economics, which still have yet to prove anything or will it be free music and movies paid for by ads?
