Apple WILL suffer an impact. The question is how big the impact will be in the first generation as Microsoft stumbles around, finds its footing and balance and learns by trial and error. And then how much larger the impact will grow and at what rate it will be expanding.

Well, Apple will not stand still in that space, and I think those who project accelerating Mac sales could be on the correct side of things, so it is not a simple "just the music business" calculus when considering investing, trading, holding or selling AAPL. Not simple at all.

Lango, So you're quivering too?

Maybe you also need to be worry of what Sony, Dell, Creative, Real, etc might do to erode Apple's share of the market. Of course, they are no MS but together they might take another big chunk of the market.

So I suppose we need to reprice Apple now because we have something to worry about. So now that you have some concrete numbers like 10,20 and 30% you can easily calculate a new price range for AAPL based on the financial impact of MS potenital impact. No? Oh yeah, I suppose it is right to do so before we even know what they have and when they'll have it. Or maybe we should just sit here and worry.

You didn't think Apple was dum enough to think that they'd have the market all to themselves unchallenged, did you? So now they know MS is coming what do you think they should do? Sit there and worry? Send out spies to find out wtf is going on? Blindly throw features at the iPod hoping to scare away MS? or simply do the best they can with what they have as they have always done? I'm not worried because I know they will do the latter.

Apple is not sitting around doing nothing you know?
