they are. if you can, watch it during the day - lots of movement. normally you're just concerned with highest bid and lowest ask, but it's useful to know how many market makers are close to that high bid or low ask.
For pink sheet stocks, Size doesn't mean anything. Regardless of what it says, it can be as low as 100 shares or better than 100,000 shares.
