I've seen these "run-ups" in distressed markets many times. I have no proof, but I think it's manipulation for big investors to sell out and make some profit while they can before the stock tanks. It suckers people into chasing the stock and then they're left holding the bag while the big fish get out. I've been fooled by it a couple of times, but I don't see this heading back to $3 or more anytime soon, if ever.
