This is indeed a very insidious, very scary viral disease.
Not so much because of the immediate effects. Ebola is much scarier in some ways.
The problem with Zika is that its more subtle, but has a far more lingering reach.
It is one thing if a disease can cause immediate pain, suffering, and either death or a long recovery time for an individual.
It is another thing entirely if instead of 'killing' somebody outright and the disease burning itself out (like Ebola for example),.... that the disease leaves terrible birth defects like microcephaly, and if you might not even actually know that you had been exposed ahead of time.
Zika, and Dengue - and West Nile from a few years back,... the epidemiology of these diseases is very hard to manage. And the after-effects are lingering and just so sad.
Somebody needs to get a treatment for this ASAP,... and I really do think that HEB is one of the better positioned companies to help,.... IF they can get out of their own way fast enough.
