No,... actually not what I wanted at all.
What I would like is a clear, definitive statement made sans 'weasel words' made once a plan is organized, and once a set of milestones is set up.
Concrete plans, with at least semi-defined timelines, and with known collaborators one can assess - are great things.
As they say where I work - if you can't measure outcomes, if you cannot define how it is goals are going to be met and at least spitball a timeline - you haven't done anything yet.
What they have done here is make a simple statement that they think it would be useful to pursue this avenue.
And - actually I agree - it would be a very useful way to go. There is very likely a use for Alferon and/or Ampligen as a treatment for Zika. Nobody else looks to have anything better at the moment.
It would have been better if they had waited until they had a partner (or two) lined up to do the preclinical testing that needs to be done, and if they had at least some sort of signed memorandum of understanding or contract in hand to get the work done,.....
This PR is nothing but fluff. They can do better than this.
