What could be happening is they have a deal with the MMs to sell/short the full amount of their shares today and possibly tomorrow, and they will cover (side deal with the mms where they hand the shares over to the MMs) in the next few days to weeks. Much like when you see a T trade after hours with penny stocks. Most of those are prearranged between the MM and financier ahead of time.
