Job was an illuminating story for all of us to realize sometimes we go through hard times, but never to lose faith. I personally thought it was cruel but that is my "interpretation".
We are going around in circles, yes pain can bring on more faith, but lack of faith can cause pain and as a result bring on suffering. If you had faith in Gods will in the first place then why is there a need for suffering, when you know God loves you and you are walking the right path? Remember when the evil pharoah threw those people into the furnace and they did not burn and did not feel pain? If they lacked faith the fire would have engulfed them and they would have been in great pain.
Jesus came here to be our saviour, he knew what lay in store for him and he went forth....He had to endure, it was Gods will.
