That is right on the mark. This new distributor is also certified to supply the military with these coatings. Maybe that is another reason they made the deal with Industrial Finishes and Systems.

Nice catch... I saw that DoD's Non-Isocyanate Polyurethane Platform for Sustainable and Advanced Rain Erosion project as well. Both PPG and Sherwin-Williams have ties to that University. Of course, PPG had the DoD grant awarded a few years ago, so they are the more likely candidate for an industrial partner in this case.

It's without a doubt that the investigator of the UEM project (Dr. Vijay Mannari) probably knows Oleg. But I can't establish a definitive University connection to either company (PPG or HCTI). I was hoping it'd say something like, in association with PPG Industries. Doesn't mean it isn't though.

The only firm link from the University to an industrial company I found so far is this from 2012:

SERDP-ESTCP is a direct partner with the EPA!! DoD implications would be the biggest windfall for HCTI yet!
