Hi Weby,
I remember the Sony-Philips purchase of Intertrust, and the cost of the MS licence only too well. Strangely similar numbers! Another fine example of Bill and his steamroller, I think.

I already have the answer re the European equivalent to NTT Data. There isn't one. Japan is a single country. Europe is lots of countries and has a lot of national champions. Nevertheless, there are numerous companies that Wave could work with in Europe and in that sort of industry (resale, consultancy, integration), each with extensive European footprints, such as PwC, EDS, Cap Gemini and Accenture. I expect they all bid on the larger, EU and government-type contracts.

I just don't think SKS has given Bruno much money to play with. And the decision to abandon Finread must have made quite a few of his smart card partners unhappy.

Anyway, I think we're due an update on the peripheral stuff. In spite of assurances, their performance has been anemic over the years and I'm not sure why.

Weby,

Speaking of questions...If I had a group of 130 companies signed up for Trusted Computing and I was the glue that kept them together, I'd bet that just one of them...WOULD USE OR BE IN TESTING FOR THE FULL SHAMOLA FROM WAVE...and I'll ask the question again, is Dell using the embassy trust system? Wavx is the third leg of their new sales strategy, and announcing that Dell was implementing Trusted Computing throughout their company would do what? I just don't get it? I just don't get it! This is why people suggest the scam...it makes no sense that Dell would put Embassy out for sale, but not implement it themselves. It makes no sense that Wavx wants to sell the upgrades but hasn't announced that they use the system. Partners use other partners stuff...
