Yup, he knows his audiences - when it's the bible crowd, he's a big fan of the bible. When Trump falls - and he WILL fall - he'll spew his hate-speak far and wide and it won't just be towards immigrants, Mexicans, the handicap, females, the media, or even a NE newspaper editor who ripped him from pillar to post.
Any sane person can see Trump doesn't really believe anything he is saying. He no longer puts the good of the country at the heart of the race, even on a pretend basis. Ideology no longer has anything to do with it. Now it's just a straight personality cult.
The fact that he is at the center of the GOP stage shows that it is no longer a political party at all, just a collection of disgruntled people who are willing to back anyone in order to take away rights they feel should be denied to anyone that isn't a white, middle/lower-middle class, FoxNews watching American.
Repubs love god-talk - it gives them a free pass to start/escalate wars. In a recent NPR interview Jeb! said, "I carry a little Jesus in my pocket"..."and also a rosary".
