I believe this all depends on how one stipulates "tested" and "validated."
I have read Microsoft exec praise for "Sphere solutions" which likely includes Overland products. Sphere is moving a good amount of Overland business to the cloud / Azure and I'm sure Microsoft appreciates the business. That seems to be a nice Azure win for Microsoft.

You're correct, I wasn't at any of the events, and I have to go with the info presented to me.

Currently, I'm not seeing the competitive advantage I once saw over a year ago. I would like to be proven wrong, but it appears there are now multiple container players (assuming GW indeed shares the space) in addition to Docker. And as mentioned, Microsoft is working on Drawbridge with no evidence that this is based on the "tested" and "validated" GW.

Nobody in the C-Suite at MSFT has ever uttered the word "Glassware" or mentioned ANY publicly.

By all indications it is a run-of-the-mill standard partnership with standard partner services (PR quotes etc.).

You can find out all about it from the group that does this for Azure offerings:

https://www.microsoftgotomarket.com/#about

The exception is they had Larry the VP show up and give a canned MSFT presentation, and stand with the company on the NASDAQ stage. However someone explained that Larry is a close friend of Eric Kelly so that would seem to explain that.

That was in June, by the way.

If Nadella isn't talking about it, it's not strategically important. Period. IMHO.

EK stated at the AGM that "the entire C-Suite of Microsoft is aware of us". I think he was, ahem, exaggerating.
