OT..Mar-Key... In all my years of fishing, I've become convinced that fish have learned from observing our one handed beer/rod technique that when one is imbibing with raised container, and when the other hand is at rest, the fish will strike, instinctively knowing human nature of not spilling a drop will allow it to steal the bait a high percentage of time. Many hours of intensive training and conditioning I have been able to actually achieve a level of control wherein I can place my beverage in a secure and well located drink caddy.
Never attach a drink caddy on any siderails. This can cause your line to entangle with the beer during a fierce fight and one desperate lunge by the fish can flip your drink into the drink. This will be to the immense chagrin of your adversaries. And a final note ... holding the brew during action is in direct proportion to the size of your fish.... can you keep the fish on and finish your refreshment first?... ah , such decisions.
I just wish Gnf was as clear...!!!
