I don't see why a technical issue that has a direct relationship to at least three stocks we are trading here (QCOM, IDCC and the bu$$ via the import of IP revenues) could not be discussed, on the contrary, we have some people here posting very lengthy analysis from all over the place on gold stocks and on silver, and I am all for it (even though, sometimes, these are so long that I only peruse rapidly through them for something "new"), and I am sure many readers are interested as well. I also feel that as many readers are interested in comparative analysis of QCOM vs IDCC, or INTC vs AMD, or the impact of INTC entry into essentially RF chips on BRCM and others in the field. The same with the relative merits of various pharma companies biotech and "junior biotech". During the heat of the trading battle, it may be difficult to respond (at least in depth), but there is ample time for mutual education in a variety of fields.
I think that one principle must be kept however, no question is too "stoopid" to be asked, if this is to be a teaching forum, we must accept the fact that no one here knows everything, and the best way to learn is to ask, even if it is a "stoopid" question. So please, all wise guys and experts, assume you are in front of a class of illiterate students and don't lose your good temper in front of what might seems to be an uneducated question.
My own question is, five years down the road, which standard of wireless will be dominant, and as a secondary question, is there really a need in the market place for the high data transmission density various companies are planning to offer. I for one, don't want a picture wireless, hey, I won't even use a cell phone, I want to be able to "hide" for an hour or two during the day, and if necessary, respond to a phone call without having to make sure Ii shaved that morning (g).
