@Smilin_B, MT has pretty detailed help included. Just hit F1 key to get to it, or click on the blue ? icon on top right of all windows. Also, if you find yourself stuck, don't waste time. Just post on our message boards or email support and we will get you going... Fast.
Most window specific settings like chart type, period, color schemes are in the Ribbon (toolbar like area) on top of thw window.
Chart Type, Period and select Indicators are on the MAIN tab on the Chart's Ribbon. (Select Indicators is also available from right click).
Color Schemes are available from the VIEW tab on the ribbon.
You can save a chart setup, or change between setups on the TEMPLATES tab on the ribbon. You can also select stuff like "Set As Default" or "Set As Default for All" on that TEMPLATES tab.
