well if that was a fact and known to everyone, it is no longer a conspiracy.<<<

thanks for your response zeev, i really don't believe in any of these conspiracy theories, i think most of these markets that are traded 24 hours a day around the globe can be manipulated by a few players, these are hugely liquid markets, i think most people that are complaining about the PPT during bear markets and about shorts during bull markets are amateur traders, and don't know how to assess support and resistance, st, it and lt trends.

markets move on the supply/demand dynamic, people buy stocks because they think they will go up, people sell stocks because they think they will go down.

this is a technical traders market, not a fundamentalist market looking to buy the market at 8 p/e ratio, it may come, but it may take a decade or more.

" think that the proponents of PPT machinations are mostly the bears, and whether AG does or does not manipulate the market is not the issue, if one believes in the PPT conspiracy, one might as well anticipate it and act accordingly."

Zeev...

I agree completely - although I am a bear longer term, standing in front of a freight train is not my idea of fun nor a good investment strategy. If one believes that the Fed/PPT is manipulating the market, it would only follow to trade short term with them, not against them. For a pretty good while now most of my trades have been on the long side despite my gloomy outlook for both the economy and the markets.

I said several times last week that even though the Gambit appeared to be in trouble, it was almost certain that Greenspan would pick a spot and do everything in his power to turn the markets back to the upside. One day does not make a market, but he did a pretty good job of turning it around today.
