It is possible that both Oily and the CVX PR are correct. Although the PR is misleading. It is possible according to many of my friends in the O&G industry to set one well head on the bottom of the Gulf, drill a hole, backup P&A that hole and drill another in a different direction. Then everything we have heard about the OBO-1 in the CVX PR could be true, the rumors of the hole being P&A'd could be true and Oily's information about a second TD, TP for OBO-2 could also be correct. Not sure this is how CVX would choose to spend their money and their partner's money but it would explain some apparent inconsistensies in the information/rumor/PRs.
