Probably Ramadi, or Fallujah, you are thinking of, as back back then Anbar was the biggest? problem
province, i think .. more recently Mosul in Nineveh was a biggie for Daesh (ISIS) .. this one May 2015

The Islamic State took control of key parts of Anbar in January 2014, including the city of Fallujah and some neighborhoods of Ramadi, and pushed farther into the
province in June. But Iraq’s government held on to pockets of authority, including roughly 80 percent of Ramadi, a city of about 900,000 people, despite constant attacks.

and farther down, more today i guess, a policeman says Ramadi has fallen .. Brig. Gen. Thomas
Weidley CofS for the anti-Daesh coalition says we are gaining in Syria and Iraq .. an August 2015 ..

i've a feeling he is not propagandizing, but you have probably read more lately on it ..

.. given geo-political considerations, realpolitik, all that if they are different?, of the region and world, i think, Obama, in deference
or not, to a majority desire of U.S.A.ers (South and Central Americans are Americans too aren't they? .. :) .. gotta throw
that in occasionally) has withdrawn about as much as he can .. that's the pragmatic position, and the reality, i think ..

.. this a bit old, and we've done it like a dinner here,

Why Did the Iraqi Army Collapse So Easily?
As it turns out, American efforts to create foreign armies almost always fail.

but it's a good one i don't see on the board .. yup, it does repeat the FACT that Bush's 2003 invasion, and Bremer's
(Bush administration's) de-Baathification of the Iraq army still remains at the root of Daesh's military success ..
