It wasn't really naked shorting, though it had the same effect. Naturally we hoped for a market cover (though that would have created some pretty big problems) or a settlement.

The authorities are aware that it was a gigantic mess; both the NASD and the SEC have alluded to the problem in new regulations.

On the one hand, the company hasn't ben allowed to do what it wanted to do. On the other, the shareholders, except the few who were allowed to sell by Ameritrade, received no satisfaction.

GVRP wasn't a naked short in the NSS style as in someone selling short stock they didn't borrow...this person had the stock, only he/she shouldn't have had it yet.

Huge mess and still is. Subsequently they increased the o/s to mega trillions then issued other classes and reverse split the commons and changed to MAMG.
