financial terms CLVS could have just used one of the approved checkpoint inhibitors so i presume they were able to get something out of roche - future commitment to fund trials if the initial bears fruit would be my guess. But if they really are fitting the bill for the initial trial i presume BMY MRK etc were not exactly clamoring for an alliance here
