I mean to suggest that long positions in biotech are now very vulnerable to a market-wide shift in psychology/sentiment.

The critical issue is how long the shift will last.

GDP growth is very slow with very few companies growing rapidly and no sector growing rapidly other than biotechs.

So if you want growth that can persist and be non-correlated to other investments, where else can you go?

BIIB’s big miss last Friday was the trigger for the wider sell-off in the past few days, IMO (see #msg-115666960). The trend could reverse at any time, however.
