Sure, if you post an image, whatever site that hosts it can track the IP information to it.

But, unless you are linking to an image on MMMary's site, or someone else who might "use" that information, there is really no danger in it.

For the most part, people link to the smilies or other random images from image sites, and I'm pretty certain they don't do anything harmful with the IP addresses.

IP is your virtual address on the Internet. Sort of like your home address. It is your computer's unique number on the 'Net. MOst people's change. But, some hackers can use the IP to gain access to your computer if you don't have the right protection (firewalls, etc).

Bottomline: Don't link to shady websites and there is nothing to worry about.
