The referendum was totally unnecessary - instead of Tsipras cutting off negotiations to drum up support for his referendum, time would have been better spent seriously addressing Greece's debt problem AND certainly not taking time out of the negotiations to detour to Russia to meet with Putin, who probably told Tsipras Russia is joining the BRICS countries and cannot help Greece.
