Hi bigmark: That was one fine post. I've long wondered the same and I always come back to the same question; how do you measure the wealth of a nation and what is wealth? There was a time, and we saw it dramatically in the '40's, when our industrial "wealth" [finally used,] overwhelmed the German/Japan thrust. I think that time is over. I think at times that the real wealth of a nation is in it's children; and this wealth must regenerate every 20 years or so. Enough of this ramble.
