Sox, from the very same article:

A White House spokesman said yesterday, "We have acknowledged that some documents detailing a transaction between Iraq and Niger were forged and we no longer give them credence. They were, however, only once piece of evidence in a larger body of evidence suggesting Iraq attempted to purchase uranium from Africa."

The official added that in his speech the president talked about purchases from Africa and did not specifically mention Niger, adding that Bush's comments were "based on a multiple of other sources."

From the Exact same article Sox. The EXACT SAME.

But then, you culled information from the article to support your position, and I, culled information from the same article to support my position.

Sox, FWIW the US has always been dragged kicking and screaming into a war/conflicit to end genocide. And the 2 parties in this country have always argued over it. I think the best examples are Bosnia and Iraq.

As far as Iraq is concerned our intelligence sucked. I have seen enough "experts" state quite firmly that we don't use enough human intelligence.

There is also enough blame to go around going back to Bush I, Clinton and the U.N. Oil for Food program. The killing, usurping of funds by Saddam, treatment of his people, links to terrorism and possible WMD was enough reason to remove him from power. Add them all up and the end result is something better than what the people of Iraq had under Saddam.

It is now time to move forward and correct the intelligence mistakes, fix the economy and continue the fight on terrorism. That is what the next election should be about. The past 2 administrations, Bush I and Clinton along with Congress and the CIA totally blew both 9/11 and the Iraq situation.
