I personally don't think it's necessarily buybacks, but more to get the other airlines to back off their capacity increases. It already worked a bit with LUV.
Well his game stinks and isn't funny to anyone losing money. He needs to keep his mouth shut talking about capacity left and right. It's not THAT serious to drop the PPS from $42 to $38 for buyback purposes if that is his intentions. Personally I kind of think he's just really that oblivious or naive or what have you yapping away like that. Just say nothing at all if you don't have anything good to say.
Now, I'm not really too upset at all having day traded this daily and shorted other carriers and made some dough. If this is to see $60 this year it'll be one hell of a gain buying at these levels, but it sure is hideous right now. Curious to see reaction to traffic tomorrow....
